Athyrium 'Lady in Red'

Athyrium 'Lady in Red' is a new Northern Lady Fern discovered by New England Wildflower Society member John Lynch.

It has been described as one of the most exciting fern introductions to come along in years and has deep burgundy stems that make this Lady Fern a star in the shade garden.

It grows 30-36" tall and is deciduous but hardy and during summer combines well with coloured leaf Heucheras.

It's been tissue-cultured and is now widely distributed to nurseries around the USA via Sunny Border Nurseries and was available in Europe from 2003 / 2004.
