Abelia x grandiflora 'Sunrise'

Abelia x grandiflora 'Sunrise' (US PP9968) is one of an increasingly available number of Abelia varieties which seem to be gaining in popularity in North America and in Europe.

Available for a couple of years in small numbers it has been released into the UK this season and is already available in the US. It was originally discovered as a branch sport of Abelia x grandiflora at Taylor's Nursery in Raleigh North Carolina.

It has a two-tone green centre to the leaf with a broad yellow margin. The new shoots are red coloured. Royalties from the plant go to support the NCS University Arboretum.
