 Clematis m. 'Primrose Star'Clematis 'Primrose Star' was first featured in PLANTS Volume 6 Issue 2 and is a brand new pale primrose variety that was officially launched at The Chelsea Flower Show 2002. It is a cross between Clematis montana 'Starlight' and Clematis montana var. rubens 'Freda' and was raised in New Zealand. It was bred almost by accident by Mr and Mrs Robin Mitchell of New Zealand while they were trying to breed a true double white Clematis montana. It is also less rampant than many of the other species and cultivars reaching only between 6-10 feet and has been available wholesale only from New Leaf Plants England and garden centres throughout the UK from 2001.
