Corydalis 'Tory MP'A new chance seedling discovered and thought worthy of naming by Nick Macer of Pan Global Plants in England. It's thought to be a hybrid of Corydalis flexuosa and Corydalis elata and is tall at 75cms in flower forming a vigorous, dense spreading clump. The flowers are an intense blue and the stems are strongly tinged red especially in the sun and and it may flower again after a dormant period in summer. It is soundly perennnial. Plants were available in small numbers from 2002 in the UK - though other similar hybrids are appearing both in the US and in Europe. The name, for PLANTS overseas readers, refers to a Conservative member of the UK Parliament, known also known as Tories, who are also known as 'true blues'.
