Euphorbia characias 'Silver Swan'This is a fine new robust and vigorous sport of Euphorbia characias. Spotted and isolated by Dr David Willis, a lecturer at Askham Bryan horticultural college near York, England it was offered to Notcutts Nurseries for trialling and introduction. Euphorbia characias 'Silver Swan' ('Wilcott' PBR)) is better growing than the other two similar and older varieties 'Burrow's Silver' and 'Emmer Green' and will prove the variety to beat in the future. Launched at Chelsea Flower Show 2001 and will be available in much larger numbers from 2002. European Plant Breeders Rights have been granted and it is planned to launch this new plant in Australasia in the near future.
