On Friday 23rd of June 2006, my former web development company went into liquidation. All my personal files, membership details and order history and all the web pages and database I had built up over the past 12 years were 'locked' into a redundant server account to which I have no access.

PLANTS website 'disappeared' for 7 days, with all sorts of rumours that I had gone bust, closed down, done a 'runner'. Well, it hasn't didn't and isn't. See Graham Rice's blog here.

I am fighting for my website and all databases to be returned to me - this is a nightmare upon the last year of nightmares for me personally when I had to pull the plug on PLANTS magazine print based issues after 10 years, PLANTS Issue 34 , the 10th Anniversary issue of the only specialist magazine in the world about new rare and unusual garden plants, was the FINAL print-based issue of my magazine due to database and logistical problems caused by the same so-callled web development company that I had entrusted to revamp PLANTS website to make it bigger and better than ever.

PLANTS magazine was my passion, an enthusiasm that got out of hand.

Current subscriptions were completed with Issue 34. PLANTS magazine website - established now for 12 years - will continue as a resource for plant enthusiasts, I am (slowly) getting around to mailing postal customers with refund cheques / checks.

I asked that previous subscribers that had outstanding subscriptions request a refund by May 1st 2006 .... but many hundreds of you kindly asked that your remaining subscription be used to keep PLANTS magazine as a live resource for the plant enthusiast community online - thank you SO much.

HOWEVER, that was before the entire website and all my records 'disappeared' this week.

Please bear with me as I try piece by piece to rebuild the website into the resource that was indispensable to so many people.

Let this be a warning to you - trust only plant lovers and keen gardeners, and always have backups of your websites and personal files.

This holding page was uploaded with a lot of effort on June 28th 2006.
