![]() Diascia 'Blue Bonnet' is the first of these popular late spring and summer flowering perennials from South Africa to have been bred with some blue starting to show in the petals. Diascias have become remarkably popular in a short space of time in the UK and now Hector Harrison from Appleby near Scunthorpe in England - who has bred most of the cultivars available across the world - has come up with this beauty. It is such a strange colour - almost gray over pink that you will either love it or hate it. The bluer colour seems to come in cooler temperatures and it seems very vigorous with me. Available through some selected nurseries in the UK this year and likely to be more widely available in other countries next year.
