 Geranium 'Chocolate Candy'Geranium 'Chocolate Candy' is a very hardy new dark-leaf geranium with the bright pink flowers held well above the foliage - unlike a number of other similar ones over the last couple of years where the flowers nestle within the foliage. It was found by the world famous Dutch nurseryman Coen Jansen at his nursery at Dalfsen in Northern Holland. Richard Webb of Webbs of Wychbold wholesale nurserymen spotted it too, hidden away in the corner of the nursery during a visit. He has grown it himself for the past couple of years now and is thrilled that his company launched the plant to the public earlier this year. It was available in small numbers during 1999 but it id now widely available. Mr Webb said at the time: "It is one of the best new plants discovered and I think it is an excellent variety". "Mr Jansen was trialling a variety called 'Stanhoe' and unfortunately in the harsh Dutch winter it perished but luckily left behind hundreds of seedlings. A chocolate-leaf one stood out and now, years later there are enough of them to offer to the public from 2000 onwards.
